COURT RESULTS: Worksop and Retford

The following people from the Worksop and Retford areas have recently appeared before the courts.

ASSAULT

Liban Awale, 32, of Rampton Hospital, Retford. Assaulted two males by beating them. Ordered to pay £350 compensation and £50 in court costs.

Dale Hall, 21, of Shepherds Avenue, Worksop. Assaulted a female. Community order made with 100 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £300 in court costs, £100 compensation and a victim surcharge of £85.

Emma Wardropper, 26, of Foxglove Close, Worksop. At Bassetlaw Hospital, without reasonable excuse, acted abusively towards staff when prohibited from doing so under an antisocial behaviour order. Also assaulted a police constable in the execution of his duty. Committed to prison for six weeks suspended for 12 months. Also ordered to pay £100 compensation and court costs of £50.

THEFT

Jonathan Taylor, 41, of Colbeck Rise, Worksop. Stole sherry, to the value of £10, belonging to Asda. Committed to prison for six weeks. Also ordered to pay compensation of £10.

Christopher Smart, 39, of Forest Road, Ollerton. Assaulted a male. Committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months. Curfew requirement imposed with electronic monitoring. Also ordered to pay compensation of £250.

Philip Kelly, 36, of Gateford Road, Worksop. Stole a laptop to the value of £250 belonging to Jewson’s PLC. Committed to prison for 26 weeks suspended for 18 months. Also ordered to pay £620 in court costs, £200 in compensation and a £115 victim surcharge.

MOTORING

Nathan Newbury, 24, of Longfellow Drive, Worksop. Drove a car without an insurance policy in place. Banned from driving for 12 months. Fined £660. Also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a victim surcharge of £66.

Kenneth Broad, 72, of Eagle Place, Retford. Drove a car at a speec exceeding 50mph in a 50mph zone. Driving record endorsed with six points. Fined £120. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.

DRUGS

Darren Shannon, 44, of Brair Lea, Retford. Had in his possession an unspecified amount of diamorphine, a controlled drug of Class A. Fined £250. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £25.

DISORDER

Nigel Lawrence, 48, of Plantation Hill, Worksop. On Bridge Place, was guilty of drunk and disorderly behaviour. Fined £130. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.
