MISTERTON councillor Hazel Brand has bought a new cup for allotment holders.
Coun Brand has used some of her community fund to buy the cup for winners of the Best Kept Allotment competition, run as part of the annual Homes and Gardens Show.
The competition is open to all allotment holders in Misterton and West Stockwith and is now a regular feature of the show.
Coun Brand presented the cheque for the cup to Brian Johnston, secretary of the Allotment Holders’ Association, which was first awarded at the show this year.
Next year’s show is on Sunday 29th September 2013.
