WE all like a bit of custard on our pudding - but how about all over your supermarket manager?
That’s exactly what shoppers at Gainsborough’s Tesco store got over the weekend as senior manager Martin Wright sat in a bath of custard to raise money for Stand up to Cancer.
Store personnel manager Natalie Durham said that the taste of success was sweet.
“We raised over £1,000 on the day, but we were running activities throughout the week and made a total of £1,500 for Stand up to Cancer,” she said.
“Staff were also doing things like a sponsored silence and we had a ghost hunt in Lincoln - not to mention the brilliant support we had from the local air cadets who were doing bag-packing and things like that for us.”
She continued: “Martin handled being in the custard really well and it was a good laugh for staff and customers.”
“The children especially enjoyed throwing custard at Martin.”
Natalie added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Jackson Shipley in Gainsborough who loaned us the bathtub - without them we wouldn’t have been able to raise so much money.”
