North Lincolnshire Central Library in Scunthorpe is holding a Chatterbox Challenge tomorrow (Wednesday February 12) from 1.30pm to 2.30pm to raise money for children who struggle to communicate.
Chatterbox Challenge 2014 is encouraging parents to bring their pre-school children and join in the event to raise money for ‘I Can’ charity that helps children communicate.
It is free for children to take part, however adults are asked for a minimum donation of £2.
Children will be able to sing nursery rhymes and enter a fancy dress competition – fancy dress is optional. The winner of the competition will win a great prize.
Councillor Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for customer services, sport and leisure, said: “Many children are often left behind because they are struggling to communicate. The charity ‘I Can’ aims to help those children communicate and ensure that they aren’t left behind. This Chatterbox Challenge is for a great cause, and there will be plenty for children to get involved in. I’d encourage you to join in and make a difference to a child’s life.”
