Isle girl guides spent a weekend learning how to help girls in poorer countries to make a difference to their own and to others’ lives.

Emphasis was placed on how choices in education can be made, and action can be taken against discrimination by girls speaking out and using petitions to further their cause.

The weekend in Claxby was organised by Plan UK, and four members of 1st Belton Guides and Rangers led activities there for ‘Girls in Action’.

The party stayed at the Viking Centre Hostel in Claxby for the special weekend.

Guides all pledged their commitment to the work of Plan UK.
