COMMUNITY: Scotter Women's Institute

The May meeting was held in the chapel schoolroom on Wednesday, May 4.

All were welcomed by the president Jean White, after Jerusalem was sung the minutes of the previous month’s meeting were read by the secretary Joyce Brown.

Jean than informed members of the Lincolnshire Show entries and the next Cliffside meeting in October, an afternoon tea is to be organised to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday, the charity for 2016 is to be Macmillan nurses, all are invited to Scotton WI’s meeting next week.

The resolutions were discussed, Sue Smith outlined the need for dementia carers in hospitals and Pat Whittingham spoke of food waste.

Jean then introduced Julie from Julie’s Beads and Scarves who had brought along jewellery and a selection of scarves she demonstrated several ways to wear scarves and these were modelled by Dawn Pinch.

The competition for a pretty plate was won by Mavis Allen and the raffle winner was Ann Lonsdale.

The next meeting will be held in the chapel schoolroom on Wednesday, June 1, at 7.30pm.
