MALTBY Town Council spread a little Christmas cheer last week as members presented a cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The councillors raised the £182 at the town’s Christmas lights switch on last month by selling mulled wine and mince pies.

The mulled wine was donated by members of the town council, while the mince pies were donated by the Maltby branch of Tesco.

Morrisons at Catcliffe also donated selection boxes which were used in a tombola on the evening, raising £32.50.

The town council thanked everyone who took part and helped give a special early Christmas present to the cancer charity.
