Win free advertising in the Guardian

THE deadline is fast approaching for businesses to win FREE advertising in the Worksop Guardian.

Firms which have been running for between one and five years can enter the Local Business Accelerators 2012 scheme - and be in with a chance of winning thousands of pounds worth of advertising.

The scheme is being backed by the Prime Minister and spearheaded by the voice of the local media, The Newspaper Society.

It will see us search for the area’s most promising young business and help them accelerate their success with advice from businessman Nigel Turner, plus a substantial allocation of free advertising space.

What’s more, one lucky business picked from hundreds of regional winners will receive individual consultation and mentoring sessions from LBA ambassador Deborah Meaden for one year, an advertising campaign designed by a top London agency and £10,000 from the Business Growth Fund.

We are looking for businesses that are active in the local community, between one and five years old and full of potential.

They may have a great idea or product, or even have found a new market. They’re the kind of businesses that will create new jobs and individually they will create pride in the community.

Entries will be judged by Nigel Turner, manager of North Notts Arena and Worksop Guardian editor Ben Green.

Mr Green said: “We’re currently in a tough financial climate but there are many up-and-coming businesses in the area who are finding success and who deserve to be recognised.”

“This is a great opportunity for them to get some advice and free advertising which will help them to thrive for many years to come.”

Last year’s Worksop Guardian winner were online clearance food and drink retailer Approved Food, based in North Anston.

Owner Dan Cluderay and his team beat off stiff competition from Worksop firm Sherwood Surveyors and Property Consultants and Retford specialist cricket shop Batting 4 6.

Starting off as market traders in Hull and Doncaster, Approved Food first opened on Vulcan Place in Worksop four years ago and has since expanded to Dinnington and more recently its new premises in North Anston.

The website is updated daily and offers massive discounts on big-name products as well as more niche gourmet items not found in the major supermarkets.

If you run such a business, or know anyone who does, and want the chance to receive valuable business support and advertising space in the Worksop Guardian, visit www.accelerateme.co.uk for more information on the scheme and how to enter. Entry is free and applications must be submitted by Friday 16th November.
