CELEBRATIONS are being enjoyed by one of Gainsborough’s most renowned firms after they picked up the prize for Business of the Year at the recent Gainsborough Business Awards.

The wards were held to celebrate the best of entrepreneurial talent that the area has to offer.

This year, world-renowned party and fancy dress specialists Smiffy’s (also known as R H Smith and Sons Ltd) took home the prestigious and coveted Gainsborough Business of the Year Award.

Smiffy’s picked up Business of the Year in 2010 - making this their second win in the category. Smiffy’s director Dominique Peckett said that they were all delighted with the accolade.

“We are thrilled to have been awarded the accolade of Gainsborough Business of the Year, which recognises our outstanding contribution to our staff, our industry and the local economy,”she said.

“The vast majority of our employees live in and around Gainsborough.”

Dominique continued: “It is due to their hard work and their commitment to Smiffy’s that has made this achievement possible.”

Keep an eye on the Gainsborough Standard in the coming weeks as we’ll be featuring all of the other winners of the Gainsborough Business Awards 2012.
