An artist's impression of the new McDonald's restaurant - set to be built in Gainsborough this Spring

A BRAND new McDonald’s restaurant is set to be built in Gainsborough this Spring - The Gainsborough Standard can reveal.

The application to build a 330 square metre, 85-seater drive-through restaurant with 31 parking spaces on land opposite the Tesco store on Trinity Street was granted by West Lindsey Council in December 2010.

McDonald’s has also said that the restaurant will create 25 full time and 40 part time jobs.

Development of the fast-food restaurant was delayed due to the company being ‘in negotiations with developers’ - but now The Gainsborough Standard has discovered that construction of the restaurant is due to start this Spring.

A McDonald’s spokesman said: “We’re very excited about the prospect of coming to the town, and we’re thrilled about the development opportunities.”

“Gainsborough has a lot to offer and McDonald’s wants to be part of the local community.”
