Fun day to boost town’s business

A GRAND fun day for all has been organised to launch a new campaign and bring more visitors to Gainsborough.

The Gainsborough Town Partnership is holding an activity day on Saturday 20th October in the Market Place.

Visitors can enjoy the opportunity to look round the Co-op’s 150th anniversary vintage bus, a bouncy castle, a children’s fairground ride, face-painting and performances from local groups. The activity day coincides with the town’s Octoberfest and the CAMRA Beer Festival at The Old Hall.

The day will launch the ‘Think Gainsborough first’ campaign to encourage more visitors to the town and to boost local businesses.

Many local businesses will be offering discounts and incentives, including meal vouchers from McDonalds, £30 of accessories with any new cycle from Church Street Cycles and 20 per cent off a new carpet ordered on the day at Gainsborough Carpets. Stagecoach has arranged for children to travel free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult and there will be free parking all day in North Street Car Park.

Town Centre Manager David Hawkins said: “Come along to support your town and help make Gainsborough a better place to live, work and shop.”
