THE BUILDING of a new McDonald’s in Gainsborough faces delays as the fast food company say they are still ‘in negotiations with developers’.

The application to build a 330 square metre, 85-seater drive through restaurant with 31 parking spaces on land opposite the Tesco store on Trinity Street was granted by West Lindsey Council in December of last year.

McDonald’s has also said that the restaurant will create 25 full time and 40 part time jobs.

But now, six months on from planning permission being granted, the development is facing delays.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said that they were currently in negotiations with developers and had no time frame of when building was likely to begin or when the restaurant looks set to be open by.

He added: “We remain committed to opening a new restaurant in Gainsborough and will be progressing as soon as negotiations with our developer are complete.”
