GAINSBOROUGH secondary school Trent Valley Academy recently celebrated a big win after taking home the prize for Best Use of Innovation and Technology at the 2012 Gainsborough Business Awards.

TVA business manager John Cawdell said: “We’ve got a fantastic investment in technology here, but it’s the way that we apply it to teaching and learning which impressed the judges.”

“We have an excellent range of software such as Accelerated Reader, Success Maker and our Virtual Learning Environment which all enhance education, not to mention our interactive whiteboards and the many machines in our technology department - including over 800 computers on site.”

John continued: “This award is for the entire staff here at TVA, because while the IT team work really hard to keep the equipment and software going, it is everyone who uses it to deliver first class education.”
