Next meeting will be on Monday 12th May at 7.30pm in the Recreation Room. Members of the public are welcome to attend, and will have 10 minutes at the beginning of the meeting during which they may ask questions of the Councillors.
Beckingham’s Gainsborough Standard Bowls League team made a promising start to their 2014 league campaign. On 28th April, they visited Melrose and came away victorious in a very close encounter to take six league points to Melrose’s four. The Club’s Isle of Axholme Pensioners’ League teams had mixed results on 29th April. The Central Section players pulled off an excellent victory at home to Marshall B, winning both rinks for a comfortable aggregate win and took all six league points. The I. of A. Evening League players start their league fixtures on 8th May when they host Epworth.
Village Hall AGM
Will be held on 19th May at 7.30pm at the Village Hall.

On Saturday evening there was a Whist Drive in the Recreation Room in aid of Nottingham City Hospital Leukaemia Appeal and Mr B. Kerr was MC. There were seven tables in play. Winners were: Ladies: Nesta Shardlow, Mary Cook and Brenda North. Gents: Judith Gourley, Bruce Blagg and Gladys Snowden.
Lowest scorers were Annie Gravell and Ellis Nottingham. There will be a Whist Drive on Saturday (10th) at 7.15pm in aid of Church Funds.

If you are interested in gardening why not come and join the club which is very informal and friendly. As well as talks from interesting gardeners we also have trips to gardens and places of gardening interest.
