This will include improvements in the Harworth and Bircotes area to support the development of the former colliery site, highways improvements in Worksop to bring forward employment sites plus a £2 million loan to Langtree Land and Property plc to accelerate the delivery of 302 homes on the Former Firbeck Colliery at Costhorpe which will also bring forward further improvements to Langold Lake and the Country Park.

Mann said: “This is very big news for our area.”

“I have previously argued that our relationship with the Sheffield City Region is crucial because it will see jobs creation and infrastructure improvements.”

“This significant financial commitment to Bassetlaw helps seal that deal.”

“Bassetlaw Council and Sheffield City Region have developed a strong partnership to bring the investment into this area and involved MPs in setting their economic parameters.”

“I welcome the fact that we share the same priorities.”

“This success is the blueprint for how we should work in the future and confirms that Bassetlaw is best served as part of Sheffield City Region.”
