THE old saying ‘Charity begins at home’ rang true for Spinks and A1 Housing as they pledged their latest donation of £1,290 to the Aurora Healthcare Centre.

The donation was raised after the Worksop plumbing, heating and bathroom company agreed to donate £1 for every radiator that was installed in an A1 Housing property between September 2010 and September 2011.

Bassetlaw Council chairman Cound David Challinor said: “It’s great that partnership work like this between a local company like Spinks, A1 Housing and Bassetlaw District Council can raise money for a fantastic local charity. It just goes to show just how far a one pound can go when you get enough of them.”
