Dancing around the maypole, devouring cream teas and putting a pound on the tombola... some traditions never lose popularity.
And they were alive and kicking at a garden party at North Anston Methodist Church.
More than £400 was raised towards vital chapel repairs as folk flocked to enjoy sunshine and entertainment.
“It went very well. The weather was best between 1.30 and 2.30pm,” said Margaret Moore, who helped organise the event and manned the tombola stall. “People sat outside and enjoyed their cream teas and watched the Girls Brigade do their maypole dancing, and others joined in too. They did really well.”
The garden party was one of a series of events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of North Anston Methodist Church.
