A POPULAR child worker has been rewarded for all of her hard work by Gainsborough families.

Elizabeth Taylor from Sure Start is set to be leaving the organisation in September, but Gainsborough Childminders wanted to do something to say thank you before she left.

The Dolly Mixture childminding group showed their appreciation by having a party for Elizabeth and presenting her with a photo frame and a clock.

“When Sure Start began in Gainsborough back in 2003, Mo Marah and I thought that Elizabeth’s was the first smiley face we came across and we were made to feel very welcome,” said Sue Thorpe from Gainsborough Childminders.

“Elizabeth has ensured that the childminders have been involved throughout the Sure Start programme. They have been kept in the loop via emails, flyers and verbal communication, so that the children have been able to join in our many activities.”

Sue added: “The presentation of our gifts was a perfect opportunity for all of the group to be together before some families go on their sumer summer holidays, and with Elizabeth leaving in September we all wanted to show our appreciation.”

“She’s been amazing.”
