Gainsborough Standard Sunday League Division Four
Ingleby Arms 2, Kings Arms Reserves 5
IN a tight first half Ingleby Arms made a number of clear cut chances with Alec Ambridge-Richardson and Carl Kitchinson going close.
However, It was Kings Arms who made the breakthrough, scoring from a flick on, and Ingleby were unlucky to go in at half-time trailing.
The game changed totally within five minutes of the start of the second half when a shot from outside the area slid off the wet surface and under keeper Warren Allen, then a cross ended up in the net, and Kings Arms were three goals to the good.
Some neat interplay unlocked the Ingleby defence and another goal left Ingleby five goals down with half an hour left.
In the final 20 minutes Ingleby Arms started to attack the Kings Arms defence and put them under some sustained pressure, and Keith Fullwood broke clear and smashed the ball into the net.
Substitute Mark Bennett then added a second with a looping shot from outside the area.
This match was the first competitive football game played at Marton playing fields in 15 years and an incredible amount of work has gone into preparing the pitch and organising the team.
