POLICE are hunting a man who is believed to have been an accomplice in an armed robbery at Saxilby Co-op.
AN e-fit of the man has been released following the incident which happened on Sunday 6th April just before 6.30pm when a customer was threatened with a knife at the High Street store.

Officers issued a description of the "lookout" as white, aged 25-30 years old of chubby build.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a green baseball cap, a waist length winter jacket also green in colour, and bright blue shiny tracksuit/shell suit type bottoms with an orange stripe down the leg. The man also had a large scar down the side of his face.

"Enquiries have been ongoing since the offence and we believe that the offender had an accomplice who acted as a lookout," said Insp Dick Holmes of Lincolnshire Police.

"We have also recovered a car that we believe was used in the robbery. It is a red Renault Laguna reg no N453 OEG. It was found abandoned on Victoria Terrace, Lincoln, on Wednesday 9th April.

"We are appealing for witnesses to come forward if they saw the car being driven very slowly around Saxilby prior to the robbery or who may have any knowledge as to how and when the car was left on Victoria Terrace."

The lookout's partner entered the supermarket and used a knife to threaten a customer before leaving with an amount of cash from the shop.

The robber is described as white, aged between 20 and 30, between 5ft10in to 6ft tall. He wore a black beanie hat, sunglasses, surgical gloves, a black waist-length jacket and jogging bottoms, possibly grey in colour. He is said to have spoken with an Irish accent and he had crooked teeth.

No-one was injured but those staff and customers present were left shocked by their ordeal.

Any witnesses or information should contact Det Sgt Paul Hutchins of Lincoln CID on 01522 882222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting incident number 301 of April 6.
