MORE than £3,000 has been raised for two Gainsborough charities.
The funds were raised for the George Henderson Lodge of St Barnabas Hospice, on Morton Front, and Gainsborough and District Macmillan Cancer Support at an annual fundraiser at the Weston Rooms.

Fundraisers Keith and Sheila Worrell organised the event back in March and raised £3,100. The evening also saw Mr Worrell have his legs waxed for the cause.

“It wasn’t painful one bit but I did have the odd drink before having it done,” said Keith.

“I would like to thank all the 140 people who attended the evening as well as the Weston Rooms who helped us raise this money for these two very worthwhile charities.”

Both charities will be spending the money raised in the Gainsborough and surrounding area.
