THE traditional British weather did not hinder two community events from taking place.
Despite a wet Misterton Gala hundreds of people turned out for the annual event which was opened by Calendar presenter Carolyn Hodgson.

Attractions on the day included a dog show, display from an army drill team, children’s dance troupe and belly dancers.

Visitors included Nottinghamshire Police Dog Handling team and other aspects of the day included stalls and a tug o’ war competition.

Back over the river the weather was a bit kinder at Morton Feast on Saturday 12th July.

Youngsters from schools across Gainsborough and the surrounding area battled it out on the football pitch and then on the tug o’ war field just behind Morton Trentside Primary School.

At the end of the tournament, which also included a 5K fun run the previous night, six trophies and 84 medals were presented to participants.
