WELL known Lincolnshire radio voice and Willingham resident Dave Bussey is leaving the BBC after broadcasting for them for the last 21 years.
The BBC Radio Lincolnshire station announced that Mr Bussey is to leave after deciding not to renew his annual contract.

The departure is part of a wide ranging package of scheduling changes, which also sees the departure of fellow presenter Dylan Roys.

Mr Bussey, 55, moved to the county in 1986 where he took over BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Breakfast Show from John Inverdale.

He was born and raised in Norfolk before joining the Royal Navy in 1968, serving on both ships and submarines. In 1979 he left the services and worked in commercial radio in Scotland before moving to the BBC and The Weekend Early Show at Radio Two. A period spent presenting programmes in various BBC local radio stations was followed by a move to Lincolnshire in 1986.

Since then he has presented most of the station’s programmes throughout his 21 years.

Mr Bussey has won several awards for his programmes, most memorably a nomination for best breakfast show in the radio industry’s prestigious Sony awards.
