A LIGHT box was stolen and smashed open for its valuable parts from the top of a Gainsborough charity's car.
LIVES, a group of volunteers who help ambulance crews to respond to 999 calls, had the light box, a taxi-like sign stolen from the top of volunteer Tanya Wray’s car, which was parked outside her Heapham Road address.

The cover part of the light was recovered the next day but the internal workings are missing and will cost £200 to replace.

Group co-ordinator Nicola Flynn said: ”The cover looks like it has been quite carefully removed and someone has tried to peel off the transfer with the LIVES logo on it, whatever the reason for this, it’s inexcusable.”

The charity rely solely on donations to provide their service and Nicola is outraged: “It’s £200 that has been stolen from my group and everyone who helps us. What sort of a person steals from a charity?” she said.

Anyone with information should call LIVES Head Office on 01507 525999 or log on to the website at www.lives-responders.co.uk
