LOCAL bands from the West Lindsey and surrounding areas are being invited to take part in Beat the Beat Festival Bands Battle.
They are being urged to attend an audition event on May 8 and 9 for a chance to perform at The State Club for the riverside festival - Gainsborough Goes Oriental - on Saturday June 7.

The grand final of the heats will take place on May 10 and both
the auditions and the final will be at the Liberal Club, Ropery Road Gainsborough from 7pm.

Angela Porter, festival co-ordinator said: "The concept for holding a competition like this came from community consultation following last year's festival

"Alongside the bands battle we are also holding a GXF Fest to gain other acts such as dance, performance, drama, and other musical acts to perform at The State Club during the afternoon of Saturday June 7."

The Gainsborough Riverside Festival is working alongside Access2music from Lincoln who are providing the technical support for the heats.

Any band wishing to compete needs to apply for a form from the festival co-ordinator on 0793 506160 or porterang@googlemail.com by April 26.

Members of the public can attend and show to their support for the bands and have a great night out.

Entry for spectators costs £1 for the auditions and £2 for the final on the door.
