The generous sum has been given to the Parnell Street facility by chairman of West Lindsey District Council Coun Melvyn Starkey.
He chose Gainsborough House Community Centre to be the beneficiary of money raised at the annual council civic dinner,
at Hemswell Cliff, back in March.
The event was attended by elected members and heads of services of West Lindsey District Council together with civic guests from neighbouring local authorities.
A formal presentation of the money, which will be used for general funds, will be made by Coun Starkey at the Gainsborough House Age Concern Friday Club, tomorrow (Friday), at 11.30am.
The presentation will allow the chairman to meet all of the people who attend the day care group. He will also meet club organisers Marion Hird and Robert Dilly.
Chairman of the association, Michael Pickles, said: “We are most pleased to welcome the chairman of West Lindsey District Council and civic officer to Gainsborough House Community Centre.
“It will give him the opportunity first hand to see the ongoing work being undertaken and the impact this has in maintaining the quality of life of our service users.
“We are most grateful to chairman Starkey for choosing Gainsborough House Community Centre as the beneficiary of monies raised at the annual civic dinner. Also for all other support received during his year of office. The monies donated will be allocated to the ongoing maintenance and upkeep budget of Gainsborough House.
“Our treasurer, Mr Andrew Bond, will ensure the money is used wisely, appropriately and effectively in keeping Gainsborough House Community Centre operational for the benefit of all its service users’ clients.”
