13th April, 1962: ACCENT ON YOUTH IN BLESS THE BRIDE

ACCENT is on youth in this year’s production of Bless The Bride presented by Gainsborough Amateur Operatic Society and the show is playing to full houses every night this week at the State Cinema, Gainsborough.

The colourful musical play with its tuneful musical numbers, attractive costumes and scenery is a happy choice and the society have been fortunate in having a number of talented youngsters in its ranks whom they have been able to call upon to undertake “leads”.

The two “Margarets”, 19-year-old Margaret Nicholson and 18-year-old Margaret Hughes, have been entrusted with leading roles and both girls score successes in their respective parts of Lucy Veracity Willow and Suzanne,
