24th April, 1987. SUCCESS IS THEIR MIDDLE NAME
SUCCESS has become the middle name for Gainsborough’s Job Club.
The scheme, which was set up at the town’s Jobcentre in Church Street last July, has now reached a success rate of 70 per cent, with some members finding work in less than a fortnight.
And the organisers are hoping to boost that record over the next few days with an Open Week to make even more people in the area aware of the facility.
The club is open to all people who have been out of work for six months or longer, and provides them with everything from free paper, stamps, use of telephone and photocopier facilities plus a travelling allowance if members live more than three miles outside the town.
