6th September, 1912:BRITANNIA CHAMPIONS OF BASSETLAW
BRITANNIA brought a highly successful season to a close on the Northolme on Satrurday and by their handsome victory over Sheffield Collegiate made safe the championship of the Bassetlaw League, this making the third time they have achieved this distinction.
They showed such a vastly superior form to their opponents in the months of May and June that there were hopes engendered of their smashing the unbeaten record set up the previous season by Worksop.
But with the advent of July came a serious lapse. Shirebrook visited the Northolm on the first Saturday and dismissed Britannia for 66 - their lowest aggregate of the season at home - to capture the points.
