12th April, 1912: SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY AT NORTHORPE
ON Good Friday the Primitive Methodists held their annual Sunday school anniversary in the afternoon.
The children and choir paraded round the village singing at intervals. They were then entertained to tea in the chapel schoolroom. There was also a public tea for adults.
Tea over, the children enjoyed themselves in games.
In the evening the chapel was nicely filled to hear the children give pieces, recitations, duets and dialogues, which they did remarkably well. The chairman, Mr Aukland, of Gainsborough, also amused the children with his story about The Frog and Mouse.
There was also a coffee supper at the close.
