THIS week’s picture is of the Trent Bridge with a swollen river running underneath it.

The date is August 1935 and the amount of water in the river could be because of that Trent phenomenon the aegir.

Whatever the reason, it’s attracted a lot of people on to the bridge to watch the spectacle.

A reader has got in touch with us about the picture in 9th June issue of The Standard showing people celebrating KIng George V’s Jubilee. She says the location is either Hickman Street or Gibbon’s Square and she can identify Dennis Kemp (middle of front row wearing hat) and Steve and Jean Flippance (standing to the right in front of the taller girl).
