Met in the Old Schoolroom with Councillor Chris Elkington in the chair. Minutes were agreed and matters arising recorded including various items of progress and work in hand. Doreen Hancock volunteered to be the local tree warden. The accounts were agreed. The Recreation Field Committee Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 9th July. It was reported that there have been a number of problems caused by vandalism on the recreation field. The Summer Marquee Party has been postponed, possibly until a date in September. The new Financial Regulations have been approved and a Best Kept Garden judge has been appointed. The gardens will be judged at the end of July/beginning of August. The proposed new bus shelter will be sited on the East Side of Stow Road near the Old Rectory. The design and siting will be discussed at the next meeting. A new notice board is to be sited alongside the footpath near the Diamond Cable Green box opposite the shop wall. Some of the old Parish records will be on display at the History Society’s Open Day on Saturday 26th July. Planning Permissions have been granted for a single-storey extension to the front of the property at 32, High Street and Outline Permission for development on land between 15 and 25 Marton Road.
The July meeting on Tuesday 16th July, will take the form of a Garden Party at Westgate House by kind invitation of member Monica Marsh. The roll call will be a flower and the competition - a fan.
The annual Garden party will be held at 36 The Close on Wednesday 16th July from 2-4.30pm.
There will be no monthly meeting on Wednesday 16th July as the annual Open Day will be held in Sturton Village Hall on Saturday 26th July between 10.30am-4.30pm with a special talk by Terry Marker from 6pm.
