Was celebrated at Sturton Methodist Church when a number of families and friends met to share worship together. As it was Bible Sunday songs and readings were based on the bible. Devotions were led by David Justham and songs accompanied by Christine Bowler at the piano and James Elvidge on the guitar which included Tell me the old, old story and I will make you Fishers of Men. Coffee and a social time followed the service.
The monthly market will be held in Sturton Village Hall on Saturday 1st November between 10am-12noon. There will be the usual stalls and refreshments for browsing and socialising respectively. Come along and find a bargain. The Lucky Number will be worth £25.
Will meet in the Old Schoolroom on Wednesday 5th November at 7.30pm when members of the public are invited to make comment and/or air their views on parish matters.
Will be held in Sturton Village Hall on Saturday 1st November, 7.30pm. Admission is free and there is a bar for over 18’s only. Minimum bet is £1 and groups of race-goers will be welcome. For more details see posters around the village. Proceeds are for the Sturton Recreation Field.
The annual Bonfire Party will be held on Sturton Recreation Field on Saturday 8th November. The torchlight parade will leave the Primary School at 6pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm followed by the firework display. Food and drinks will be available. Admission Adults £4 and children under 14 years £2. NO dogs or sparklers are permitted. Car parking at the school.
The annual parade and service with uniformed organisations will take place on Sunday 9th November. The parade will leave School Lane at 2.50pm followed by a short service at the War Memorial on Stow Road at 3pm. A tree will be planted and dedicated to commemorate the start of the First World War. Refreshments will be served in the Village Hall afterwards.ST
