Kay Edgar presided and Brenda Gwyther was the pianist when Women’s Hour met in the chapel schoolroom on Wednesday 4th June, Kay introduced the speaker for the afternoon Muriel Jacklin. Muriel spoke to the ladies about the trip she had made to London 2012. Rev Ruth Simpson will be the speaker when Women’s Hour meet on Wednesday 18th June at 2pm.
This was a very successful weekend with a constant stream of visitors to the festival in the chapel organised by Scotter Art and Textile Groups.
Book sale/Food Bank
The monthly book sale and coffee morning takes place in the chapel schoolroom on Saturday 14th June from 9.30-11.30am. Alongside the book sale there will be the opportunity to contribute to a food bank. Donations will be forwarded to the Forge project in Scunthorpe and the Salvation Army.
The Messy Church session on Sunday 15th June has been given the title ’Church does Messy Church’, the youngsters invite the adults to join them for a morning of crafts and worship.
Chapel Gift Day
The Chapel Gift Day will take place on Saturday 21st June with a coffee morning and various stalls from 10am-12noon and afternoon tea being served from 2.30-4.40pm, local musicians will be providing a mix of music. On this day there will be an opportunity to make a one-off gift to assist the work of the chapel.
