President Jean White welcomed members and visitors to the July meeting of Scotter WI in the Chapel schoolroom on Wednesday 2nd July. The speaker for the evening was Trudy Norris a medical herbalist who gave a very informative talk. She brought with her several medicinal potions and creams as well as a selection of plants which she was able to tell the healing qualities of. The competition was won by Doreen Whitelam, and Beryl Hudson won the raffle. A garden party was held at the home of Jean White to raise funds for Scotter WI, there was a tombola and book stall, refreshments of strawberries and cream were served.

Open Garden

The sun shone for the afternoon of the Open Garden event at 115 High Street. Strawberry teas were served in the garden, there was a raffle and a tombola. There was the opportunity to wander around and admire the many flowers, trees and shrubs, plants were also on sale. £415 was raised for the Methodist Chapel funds. Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Shorthose for their hospitality and all their hard work to make the afternoon a success.

Methodist Chapel

Rev Brian Bailey will take the service on Sunday 13th July at 10.30am.

Messy Church

The July meeting of Messy Church takes place on Sunday 13th July from 10.15-11.45am. Messy Church is an arts and crafts session for four to 11 year olds.

Scotter Tennis Club

Summer Fete on Sunday 13th July at the Tennis Courts from 2-5pm, celebrate 50 years of the tennis club in the village.

Toddler Praise

This fun and fellowship session for pre-school children and their carers takes place at the chapel on Monday 14th July at 2pm.
