Scene at Little Church Lane

Have your say

THIS week’s picture is of Little Church Lane – hardly recognisable from what it is like today.

By the look of all the bunting and flags strung across the lane and hanging from the side of the houses they are celebrating a royal occasion - possibly King George V’s Silver Jubilee of 1935.

With regard to the picture of a scene on the River Trent in our 4th August issue, it shows work to bridge the gap at Morton where banks broke between The White House and Walkerith. Two cranes from the Dutch government were brought in, one scooping material from one area and loading it on to a barge for transporting downstream to the other crane to fill the gap.
