Pause for Thought

A number of us, in these past few days, will have helped our children to pack up their belongings and accompanied them to move '“ either to university or a new start in their lives '“ and know the challenge of coming to terms with the reality that they are no longer under the same roof as us.

W. H. Vanstone suggests, in his wonderful book, Love’s Endeavour, Love’s Expense that ‘authentic love’ looks, unconditionally, for the flourishing of the other rather than concentrating on our own needs and feelings. May God, whose authentic love is embodied in Jesus, give us strength to bear the cost and enable others to flourish.
