The historic local landmark of North Leverton windmill near Gainsborough and Retford is gearing up to celebrate 200 years with a special event this month.
Rattlejag Morris has collaborated with North Leverton Windmill trustees to bring a ‘Day of Dance’ to their 200th Year celebration
A spokesman said: “This historic windmill has been continuously milling for all that time for the local area and is well worth a visit.”
“Recently renovated, the mill is operated by a charitable trust and needs all the support it can get to keep operating in the future.”
The ‘Day of Dance’ will be a dance, music and craft fair on Saturday 11th May. Starting at 12pm the visiting dance sides will meet at the Royal Oak pub, after which they will progress to the windmill in Mill Lane, just outside the village, to present an afternoon of English traditional dancing until 5pm. At 1pm, the Fair opens with the Leverton Stompers.
