The workshop covers a range of creative craft techniques and those attending will complete a variety of fabric and papercraft items, including greetings cards and patchwork. The group meets in the Church Room, Church Lane, Misterton, on Thursdays from 1.30-3.30pm and is free for those on means-tested benefits and their unwaged dependents. Otherwise, the course costs £53.90. For further information, call Julie on 01777 706132 or 01246 278623. The course is delivered by the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA).
Join in the 73-year village tradition by entering Mister-ton’s annual horticultural and domestic crafts show. Flowers and flower arrangements, fruit and veg, arts and crafts, and domestic produce - whatever your skill or age, there’s a class for you to enter at the annual Misterton Horticultural, Arts & Crafts Show at Misterton Sport Social Club on Sunday 28th September. Call the Show Secretary (tel: 891376) for details of the classes. This year, there’s a new class for first-time exhibitors: any fruit or veg from those listed in the schedule. There are novice classes for flower growers, too. Entries for all classes may be brought on the day between 10am and 2pm. Judging begins at 2.15pm. All entries (other than those in reserved classes) will be auctioned for charity. The Show opens to the public at 5.30pm. Judging for the Best-kept Allotment competi-tion was in July and the win-ner will be announced when awards are presented at 6pm. 6.30pm, auction of show produce begins; profits go to local charities and good causes.
