Misterton Primary School and churches in Misterton will give their harvest gifts to Bassetlaw Food Bank. In urgent demand are tins of soup, tinned new potatoes or Smash, tins of fruit and custard, and long-life milk. Toiletries and basics, like toilet rolls, are always welcome. After the harvest season, if you can help, leave your donations in the Parish Church or at the Cycle Barn, Grovewood Road. So far, 533 bags of provisions have been taken from local villages to the Retford depot.
WW I Exhibition
The exhibition, Lest We Forget – Misterton & West Stockwith in The Great War, will be ‘on tour’ in the two villages through to the end of November. The dates are as follows: St Mary’s Church, West Stockwith, throughout October, daily 10am-4pm, Sundays, 12noon-4pm. All Saints’ Church, Misterton, throughout November, daily 10am-4pm, Sundays 12noon-4pm.
Straight after replacement of the railway bridge on the A161, Marsh Lane will have two-way traffic lights while sewer repair work is carried out. And overnight on Sunday/Monday 2nd/3rd November, the A161 will again be closed for examination of the new bridge.
