This Easter, Gainsborough Old Hall are offering you the chance to learn about medieval cooking and Easter traditions dating from the Middle Ages.
The event, which runs from Friday 29th March to Monday 1st April, allows visitors to discover quirky and inventive medieval recipes from Easter-time.
A spokesman said: “The fires will be lit and a pot of aromatic stew will be simmering in the background as costumed characters prepare various dishes throughout the day, alongside pre-prepared delicacies.”
Visitors can find out what ingredients medieval cooks used before many of modern food items were discovered, and there will also be a ‘have-a-go children’s area’.
The event runs from 10am to 5pm (with the last admission at 4.30pm). Normal admission price applies, but all extra activities are free.
