Top names on their way to Majestic . . .
RETFORD'S Majestic Theatre has lined up a great season of entertainment for 2010.
Saturday 23rd January sees Elkie Brooks stop off on her 50th Anniversary Tour.Quite simply she is one of the most successful and popular singers the UK has ever produced.
Now celebrating her 50th year in music, she is still proving to be one of the most powerful and versatile vocal talents of our generation.
Performing some of her classic hits, blues, jazz and perhaps a song or two from her forthcoming album, an electric evening with Elkie is guaranteed to leave you begging for more. All tickets are priced at 20.
In February Boycie and Marlene, two of the best loved characters from the BBC hit sitcom Only Fools And Horses and its spin-off series The Green, Green Grass offer you the chance to meet Boycie (John Challis) and Marlene (Sue Holderness) and to share in some of the shows most memorable moments and to discover some of the things that we didn't see on our screens.
You will also have the chance to ask questions to two of our most respected television stars. Tickets are priced at 20.
February also sees the UK premier of Bad Boy Johnny and the Prophets of Doom. From the producers of Vampires Rock and Bat The Symphony, this award-winning musical is about to take the UK by storm.
Sex, religion, satire, comedy and rock 'n' roll, all delivered by an incredible cast, this show is not to be missed!
Bad Boy Johnny is a fast-paced Australian-grown rock musical which stunned audiences with a profusion of hit songs and is destined to be elevated to cult status. Tickets are 20 and 18, Students 15.
Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd March sees a first visit to The Majestic of Hull Truck Theatre who present Men Of The World by BAFTA award winning John Godber. Tickets are 15 and 14.
Friday 21st May sees the UK's premier rock and roll legend Joe Brown stop off at The Majestic.
Undoubtedly one of this country's best loved, enduring, and most acclaimed musicians, Joe, along with his long serving band make a first visit to The Majestic in a two-hour musical celebration. Tickets are all priced at 20.
Thursday 24th June sees Jethro stop off on his Too Late To Grow Up Tour, the legendary Cornish comic returning with another bout of heavyweight belly crunching adult comedy. Tickets are priced at 20 and 18, students 15.
