Motown night at The Sands

LOVERS of soul will be heading to Gainsborough on Saturday 15th August when the town's Sands Venue will be presenting a Motown special with Diane Shaw.

Diane will be re-living the legends of the glorious Motown era, performing songs from the likes of Gladys Knight, Roberta Flack, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Martha Reeves, The Three Degrees and many more.

Her TV debut was back in 1999 on the Grand Final of Stars in their Eyes and since then she has been one of the most in-demand entertainers on the circuit.

She brings to life the spirit of the soul divas with her outstanding vocal skills and this show features something for everyone with emotive ballads through to Motown floor fillers.

Once described as the "most famous unknown singer" in the UK, Diane has probably performed in front of more people than most of the singers in the pop charts today.

She has been heralded the freshest thing to hit the UK Soul scene in years, bringing an enthusiasm and energy rarely seen on stage today.

From the dynamic and emotive ballads of the likes of Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin and Dorothy Moore, venturing into Northern classics from the likes of Martha Reeves, Tammi Terrell, The Elgins and the Velvelettes, and ending up with the whole room on their feet dancing to a tribute to the classics of Motown including The Supremes, The Vandellas and even her own versions of classics from the likes of the Four Tops, and the Isley Brothers, it's true that Diane's show has something for everyone.

Tickets for the show are 10 with an optional menu available and can be obtained from The Sands Venue Box Office on 01427 811118 or visit www.the-sands.co.uk
