Dress rehearsal for the Blyth Players latest production Jack and the Beanstalk (w120116-2a)
Pantomime is still in full swing with Jack and the Beanstalk being performed by Blyth Players this month.
This version of the timeless fairy tale has been written by Graham Baraclough who comes from Mirfield, West Yorkshire.
The show is being performed at Barnby Memorial Hall in Blyth.
Blyth Players secretary Mick Taylor said: “Ticket sales are going well.”
“It has all the makings of a good pantomime and a good audience.”
The show involves 16 principal actors who are accompanied by 16 youngsters in the chorus and dancing.
These children all go to local schools and the youngest is just six.
Blyth Players will be celebrating their 40th anniversary in June.
Mr Taylor has been involved as secretary and working backstage for 20 years, while his wife Mavis does costumes and publicity.
The first production will be next Thursday 9th February at 7.15pm. Doors open at 6.45pm.
Evening performances will also be staged on Friday 10th February and Saturday 11th February at the same times.
Matinee performances will be on Saturday 11th February and Sunday 12th February.
Doors open at 1.30pm and performances start at 2pm.
