Get close to animals in North Anston

HALF-term fun is in store for anyone heading to the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre.

Visitors can get up close to meerkats, birds of prey, snakes, insects and many other residents at the centre in North Anston and discover how they maintain their looks and attract a mate.

There will also be a free-flying bird display with a fashion show theme featuring the centre’s popular Macaw siblings as well as activities, crafts and games - all part of a new event called Looking Good.

Centre manager Joanne McDonaugh said the themed events have become very popular.

“Many animals have rather weird and wonderful ways of impressing that special someone during breeding season, as well as keeping their feathers, furs and scales in tip top condition; we look forward to putting on an unforgettable event to share this with our visitors,” she added.
