GAINSBOROUGH: 100 Anniversary of Great War

On Saturday 15th November we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the Great War with our concert “In Flanders Field” in All Saints’ Church Gainsborough at 7.30pm.

We are performing the Rutter Requiem (1985) and the Haydn Mass in Time of War composed in 1796. Both pieces express an anti-war sentiment despite being of a lyrically joyful nature showing hope for the future. The Lincoln Pro Musica orchestra accompanies us together with soloists from the Royal Northern College of Music. The orchestra completes the evening with Elgar’s Nimrod from his Enigma Variations.

Richard Green is our choir master and conductor for the evening.

Tickets for the concert will be available at the door £12 (adults), £10 (concessions: age, student over 14yrs, unemployed), Accompanied child under 14yrs £2.
