Commenced its 57th winter programme earlier this month with a three-course dinner at the town’s Red Lion Hotel.
About 40 members attended the event, at which the guest speaker was Carl Speddings, who hails from Firbeck near Rotherham and is a founding member Doncaster Air Museum.
He gave an illustrated speech entitled Doncaster at War, with a CD presentation showing the roles played by the numerous RAF airfields that surrounded Doncaster during World War II.
The Men’s Society has scheduled an evening visit to the Doncaster Air Museum - which is situated off Doncaster’s Bawtry Road - as part of its 2014/15 programme.
Other forthcoming monthly events include illustrated talks on the Humber Head Peatlands and Falkland Wildlife, an indoor games night and a quiz, set by the Society’s president Ken Turner.

Service : Eill be held at the War Memorial on Sunday 9th November. We shall begin to assemble at 10.30 to 10.45am. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be offered in the Victoria Club straight afterwards.
