COMMUNITY: Gainsborough Organ society

The society starts off their new season with their AGM on Thursday, September 1, at the usual venue, the Weston Rooms, Hickman Street, Gainsborough, starting at 7.30pm for the meeting and for those who are coming for the concert only, it is expected to start at 8.30pm.

The society prides itself on getting the meeting over quickly, the recorded short meeting is 38 minutes.

Following the meeting, there will be a concert performed by one of the stars of the future, teenager Lewis Scott from Hull.

Lewis reached the final of the National Young Organist of the Year contest, and the society managed to get him to play at their last AGM, so it is a pleasure to invite him back again.

One of the main objectives is to support and encourage the younger ones to gain experience and present them with a chance to perform in public, but the young ones are few and far between nowadays.

Lewis is fortunate enough to have the very latest Roland musical equipment on which he performs, and a very supportive family. He has a bright future.
