The scheme uses a simple checklist to help people aged 60 or over receive services to keep them safe and independent in their own homes.
If a staff member from any of the partner agencies, such as a firefighter, police officer or volunteer goes into an older person’s home, they will complete a checklist to find out if they have any other needs for:
A home security check.
Any repairs or mobility adaptations that need doing in the home.
Energy-saving improvements to keep warm and reduce energy bills.
Confidential advice on any money the householder may be entitled to.
Crime reduction advice.
Signposting to local community transport schemes.
Signposting to local voluntary and community groups and clubs.
Advice on different types of housing accommodation that may be available.
