Cut hundreds from energy costs with Big Energy Saving Week.

Citizens Advice West Lindsey will be out and about helping people to cut hundreds of pounds from their energy bills.

As the nights start to draw in, Citizens Advice West Lindsey together with Clip Learning, is offering free advice to help consumers save energy, cut their bills and get all the support they are entitled to.

On Tuesday, November 1, people can visit CLIP Café in Market Rasen to find out how to save on their bills. To book an appointment contact CLIP on 01673 843489.

Generalist advisers will also be able to offer energy saving advice at our outreach sessions throughout Big Energy Saving Week at: Caistor, Hemswell Cliff, Market Rasen and Newtoft. You can find all session times at:

www.citizensadvice.org.uk.

People can get help and advice on how to check they are on the best deal, switch tariff or supplier and take up help to insulate their homes and reduce their energy usage.

By taking action to check, switch and insulate, consumers could make savings on their energy bills:

- £130 each year by making simple changes to everyday behaviours to become more energy efficient

- Up to £320 a year from insulating and retrofitting your home

- £110 average saving paying by direct debit rather than cash or cheque for your gas and electricity

- Up to £200 saving for switching tariff or supplier if you have never switched before Henrietta Davis, Rural Service Project Manager of Citizens Advice West Lindsey, said: “During Big Energy Saving Week we’ll be helping consumers to check, switch and insulate to bring their energy costs down. We’re keen to make sure that no-one pays a penny more than they need to on energy costs, so we’re helping people to find practical ways of cutting their energy bills.”

Big Energy Saving Week is a national campaign running from October 31, supported by Government and led by Citizens Advice in partnership with Energy Saving Trust, Age UK and Action with Communities in Rural England.

Consumers can also get help and advice online at www.bigenergysavingweek.org.uk, or can join in a twitter chat during the week. You can see a full list of events at http://tiny.cc/BESWevents
